Ex-Premier League player Jermaine Jenas was full of praise for Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard after another impressive performance for West Ham United at the weekend. 28-year-old Lingard is on loan at West Ham from the Red Devils having signed for the Hammers in January.
The West Ham attacker hardly featured for Manchester United in the Premier League in the first half of the season until he moved to West Ham earlier this year. He has scored eight goals and provided three more goals for others in his nine appearances for the Hammers in the Premier League. Those nine goals include the two goals scored for the Hammers in the 3-2 win at home to Leicester City on Sunday.
Jermaine Jenas waxed lyrical about Lingard while he was on BBC Match of the Day earlier this week as he described him as an intelligent player. He was impressed with his performance against the Foxes.
Lingard scored the first two goals during the game with the Foxes at the London Stadium. He was also involved in the third West Ham goal scored by Jarrod Bowen. All the three goals were scored in the first half. The Foxes roared back in the second half with two goals from in-form striker Kelechi Iheanacho but they were unable to score the third goal that would have earned them a point against the Hammers.
