Jermaine Jenas has said that he is training very hard these days to improve his fitness.
Jenas has recently joined QPR after leaving Tottenham Hotspur. He signed for QPR on the last day of the mid season transfer window. The transfer fee has not been revealed yet. Jenas has signed a contract of one and half years for QPR.
Jenas played his first match for QPR a couple of days back against Norwich City. He came to play as substitute in the 69th minute of that match. During his 25 minutes stay on the field, the English midfielder looked in good nick.
Jenas talked to the reporters after the match against Norwich City. When asked whether he is satisfied with his performance in his debut match for QPR, Jenas said, “Yes, I think I played well. I hadn’t played much in the last couple of months. So, it was nice to go on the field for about 25 minutes.”
“Now, my target is to get a starting opportunity for QPR and I know that I need to improve my fitness for that. As I said that I had been out of action since quite a while, so, my fitness has deteriorated a bit. But, I am trying to improve it. I am training hard.”
Jenas played for 8 years for his previous club Tottenham Hotspur. He featured for the Spurs in 155 matches and scored 21 goals for them. When asked about his tenure at Tottenham, Jenas said, “I enjoyed playing in Tottenham shirt for so many years. I got the chance to work with a couple of great managers during my tenure at Tottenham and they helped me in improving my technique. I also got a lot of success at Tottenham. So, overall, it was a nice experience.”
